Temporary Suspension of Client Services - August 2024
Dear Fellow Citizens,
The Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Toronto hereby informs you that due to the centralized implementation of a new version of the electronic client service system, the acceptance of VISA applications will be SUSPENDED during the following periods:
• From August 1, 2024, to August 18, 2024 – for third-country nationals;
• From August 8, 2024, to August 18, 2024 – for all other nationalities and long-term residencies.

The Consulate General will be UNABLE to accept applications for the issuance of Bulgarian identity documents (BIDs) and will suspend notarizations and legalizations for Bulgarian and foreign citizens from August 10, 2024, to August 18, 2024. During this period, notarizations of powers of attorney and declarations can only be performed in urgent and humanitarian cases.
*Note: Examples of urgent and humanitarian cases include: force majeure and unforeseeable circumstances, natural disasters, urgent travel related to illness or death of a close family member, travel cases involving minors. It should be noted that not all life situations can be exhaustively listed.
During the specified periods, it will be possible to receive the requested service after contacting the consular office.
The consulate will continue to operate for the collection of already arrived documents and processed notarizations.
