May 24 - Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodii, of the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture, and of Slavic Literature, has been declared Bulgarian Cultural Heritage Day in the city of Niagara Falls, Ontario.

The news comes after the relentless efforts of the Consulate General team over the past few months. So far, there have been no similar initiatives in the city's municipal practice, and Bulgaria is among the first countries to boast its own cultural heritage day celebrated by a municipality.

The proclamation of Bulgarian Cultural Heritage Day will take place through one of the events we plan to hold in connection with the celebration of letters in Canada.

The document was signed by Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati late last week.

The celebration of Bulgarian Cultural Heritage Day in Niagara Falls is the first event of its kind, which will mark the beginning of a whole series of events with which the Consulate General will celebrate May 24.
